The Eagle Grove boys track & field team competed last Friday at the Class 2A state qualifier in Garner.

Lake Mills took the team title with 105 points, followed by: Pocahontas Area 101, Aplington - Parkersburg 96, Forest City 73, Osage 60, Denver 59, Crestwood 54.5, New Hampton 45, Garner-Hayfield/Ventura 43, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 42, Emmetsburg 37 and Eagle Grove 25.5.

During his long and illustrious coaching career at Eagle Grove, former head coach Jerry Becker has received recognition for state championship teams and coach of the year honors. Now he will be honored again at each year’s Umstead Relays, starting this year, with a traveling plaque for the winning 4x4 relay team going to each class school....
